The expression of CG11426HMJ21194 under the control of Scer\GAL4repo.PU leads to third instar larval eye disc showing decreased apoptosis, increased glial cell number, holes in the lamina and an uneven lamina plexus; there are defective photoreceptor axon projections. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4NP2276 also results in increased glial cell number in the third instar larval eye disc.
