        Flies expressing pufEY03971 via Scer\GAL4hs.PB show increased sensitivity to the Gram-negative pathogens Enterobacter cloacae and Klebsellia pneumonia, and to the Gram-positive pathogen Enterococcus faecalis.

        Scer\GAL4GMR.PU-mediated expression of pufEY03971 causes a mild rough eye with increased ommatidial size.

        Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096-KE-mediated expression of pufEY03971 causes the adult wing to curve downwards (indicative of increased cell size in the dorsal layer).
