Imprecise excision of the P{lacW}Rpt1k11110 progenitor insertion. 32bp of residual P-element sequence remains.
Rpt1P1 is rescued by Rpt1Ubi-p63E.PS
Expression of Rpt1Ubi-p63E.PS rescues the lethality of Rpt1P1 homozygotes. The rescued flies are fully viable and fertile.
The residual P{?lacW}Rpt1P1 insertion is within Rpt1, which is located within a long intron of CG17985. Homozygosity for the P{?lacW}Rpt1P1 chromosome results in pupal lethality which is rescued by expression of Rpt1Ubi-p63E.PS, indicating that the lethality of the P{?lacW}Rpt1P1 chromosome is due to an effect on Rpt1 alone and not CG17985.
