Imprecise excision of the P{lacW}Rpt1k11110 progenitor insertion. 600bp of residual P-element sequence remains.
The residual P{?lacW}Rpt1L15 insertion is within Rpt1, which is located within a long intron of CG17985, thus the residual insertion may affect the expression of both genes. Homozygosity for the P{?lacW}Rpt1L15 chromosome results in second instar larval lethality which is not rescued by expression of Rpt1Ubi-p63E.PS. This suggests that the homozygous lethality of the chromosome is at least in part due to an effect on CG17985.
