Expression of Scer\GAL419-12>GM130Scer\UAS.cZa engenders multi-compartment Golgi outposts in dendrite shafts of larval dendritic arborization neurons. In contrast to the dendritic shafts, GM130Scer\UAS.cZa-expression does not significantly affect the compartment organisation of somal Golgi.
The number of microtubule growth initiation events is significantly increased in the dendritic shafts of neurons expressing Scer\GAL419-12>GM130Scer\UAS.cZa. The increase is largely due to events associated with GM130-containing multi-comparment Golgi outposts.
The total number of dendritic branch points as well as the number of higher-order branches (fourth order and up) is significantly reduced in class III da neurons expressing Scer\GAL419-12>GM130Scer\UAS.cZa.
