    Inhibition (using Ctet\TeTxLC[TNT.UAS]) of Scer\GAL419-12 neurons in larvae slightly reduces navigation away from higher wind speeds, compared to controls, with no effect on movement speed in the absense of wind stimuli; there is no effect on the probability of head turns downwind or acceptance rates of head sweeps away from versus towards the wind, compared to controls.

    Inhibition (using Ctet\TeTxLC[TNT.UAS]) of the combined set of Scer\GAL4GMR61D08 and Scer\GAL419-12 neurons in larvae significantly reduces navigation away from higher wind speeds, compared to controls; this effect is significantly greater than that of inhibiting Scer\GAL419-12 neurons alone; there is also a significant reduction in the probability of head turns downwind and acceptance rates of head sweeps away from versus towards the wind, compared to controls and compared to Scer\GAL419-12 neurons alone.

    Inhibition (using Ctet\tetXTNT-LC.UAS) of Scer\GAL419-12 cells significantly reduces larval escape behavior in response to HCl application, compared to controls.

    Inhibition (using Ctet\tetXTNT-LC.UAS or Hsap\KCNJ2UAS.EGFP) of a subset of Scer\GAL419-12 cells (inhibition restricted using Scer\GAL80tsh-GAL80) in larvae significantly reduces nociceptive movement responses following stimulation with a von Frey filament, compared to controls.

    Optogenetic activation (using Cnoc\ChR1::Csub\ChRCsChrimson.IVS.20xUAS.Venus with 625 nm (red) light) of a subset of Scer\GAL419-12 cells (activation restricted using Scer\GAL80tsh-GAL80) in larvae results in contractions without rolling in the absence of pain stimuli, this is not seen in controls.

    Inhibition (using shi1.UAS at 31[o]C) of Scer\GAL419-12 cells in larvae, further restricted using Scer\GAL80repo.PL, or inhibition of the combined set of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG and Scer\GAL419-12 cells, significantly reduces the probability of backwards motion in response to a head touch, compared to controls.
