Expression of Xbp1UAS.RB under the control of Scer\GAL4bs.Term causes air-filling defects and reduced branch numbers in the trachea terminal cells region.

Overexpression of Xbp1Scer\UAS.RB in class IV da neurons (Scer\GAL4ppk.PU) or class III da neurons (Scer\GAL419-12 in combination with Scer\GAL80repo.PL) significantly enhances axon regeneration.

Expression of Xbp1Scer\UAS.RB under the control of Scer\GAL4bun-GSG5961, using RU486 food supplementation to induce the expression, extends adult lifespan relative to controls.

The temporally regulated expression (by Gal80[ts]) of Xbp1UAS.RB, for 5 days under the control of Scer\GAL4NP5130, does not lead to a significant change in the proportion of mitotic cells in the adult midgut, as compared to controls; clonal expression under the control of Scer\GAL4unspecified in adult midgut clones leads to a significant decrease in clone cell number at 7 days after clone induction, as compared to control clones.

Xbp1Scer\UAS.RB clones in fat bodies from well-fed early third instar larvae (generated using Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP) accumulate lysosomes, as indicated by elevated LysoTracker staining, and show redistribution of the Atg8a product into autophagosomes.

Expression of Xbp1Scer\UAS.RB under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF generates small, rough eyes with enhanced cell death.

The increased cell proliferation in the adult gut observed in flies expressing Ero1LGD3577 under the control of Scer\GAL4esg-NP5130 (and using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression) is suppressed by co-expression of Xbp1Scer\UAS.RB.

Expression of Xbp1Scer\UAS.RB under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS in pcx3 embryos which lack maternal and zygotic pcx function partially rescues the neurogenic phenotype: 31% of embryos are fully rescued, 43% are partially rescued and 26% are not rescued. The endoplasmic reticulum defects are also rescued in 74% of cases.

Co-expression of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa does not suppress the small, rough eyes with enhanced cell death phenotype of Xbp1Scer\UAS.RB, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF flies.
