1xUAS drives expression of the fusion protein associated with the mouse 'Wld[S]' mutation. FlyBase curator comment: the 'Wld[S]' fusion protein is composed of the N-terminal 70 amino acids of Mmus\Ube4b fused to the full-length sequence of Mmus\Nmnat1.

      Expression of one copy of Mmus\wldS.Scer\UAS.cNa under the control of Scer\GAL4VGlut-OK371 has a mild protective effect on L1 vein neurons following axotomy. Fragmentation of axons occurs more slowly than in wild type.
