CG5280T317 was induced with EMS on a chromosome carrying the homozygous viable and fertile P{EPgy2}mldEY12290 insertion.
CG5280[T317] primarily affects the speed or efficiency of sperm entrance into seminal receptacles of females. In matings with wild-type males, seminal receptacles were fully filled 20 minutes after mating, whereas only a few sperm enter the seminal receptacles 20 minutes after mating with CG5280[T317] homozygous males.
CG5280T317 mutants exhibit defects in the speed or efficiency of sperm entrance into seminal receptacles in females.
