UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a mutant form of Hsap\TARDBP containing the familial-ALS linked mutation M337V and lacking the RNA recognition motif ((residues 106-175)) and NLS sequence (six basic amino acids (K82A, R83A, K84A, K95A, K97A, R98A) have been replaced with alanine).
Flies expressing Hsap\TARDBPΔRRM1.NLSmut.M337V.Scer\UAS in the eye under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU do not show any signs of retinal degeneration.
