mir-980NP3544 mutant adult flies display enhanced 3 hr memory in an aversive olfactory memory assay in adults compared to controls while odor or shock avoidance is not significantly altered.
Less indirect flight muscle degeneration is seen in mir-980NP3544 mutants exposed to high-temperature stress (33[o]C) than controls. Lifespan is similar to controls at 25[o]C, but is reduced at 33[o]C. Mobility is unaffected at high temperatures until 14 days, which coincides with the onset of the early death.
