      Knock down of alien in the germline using aliendsRNA.shRNA.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PS (in which the FRT cassette has been excised using heat shock) results in germline stem cell loss. Some germaria contain extra cystoblasts, exhibiting germ cell differentiation defects.
