Description

The mir-284 hairpin has been deleted. A w+mW.hs marker which is flanked firstly by a pair of loxP sites and secondly (flanking the loxP sites) by a pair of inverted attP sites is present in place of the deleted sequence. It is not known whether or not expression of the host Octβ2R gene is affected.

      3-5 day old homozygous and mir-284KO/Df(3R)Exel7317 adults show reduced climbing ability in a negative geotaxis assay.

      Homozygous adults show significant defects in the hemolymph-brain barrier (as determined using a dye injection assay).
