UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a mutant form of Scr lacking the LASCY motif (amino acids 18-21), DYTQL motif (a D111Q substitution and deletion of amino acids 112-118) and CTD domain (deletion of amino acids 388-390).

      Expression of ScrΔLASCY.DYTQL.CTD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PU results in ectopic T1 beards and salivary glands. Ectopic tarsi are seen when ScrΔLASCY.DYTQL.CTD.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.PU.

      The antennae of flies expressing ScrΔLASCY.DYTQL.CTD.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4pb.PJ are not wild type but do not exhibit an obvious transformation to proboscis identity. Patches of tricombless, convoluted cuticle are seen at higher temperatures.
