FlyBase curator comment: this entry is used to capture phenotypic information when the particular allele (or allele combination) used by the author could not be determined but the context of the experiment suggests that the phenotype being described is some kind of loss of function.
There is a general increase in dmtunspecified mutant embryos relative to wild type. At embryonic stages 10-11, a slight (but not statistically significant) increase in the number of apoptotic tracheal cells in dmtunspecified mutants compared to wild type. During stages 12 and 13, the number of apoptotic cells per trachea increases significantly. Increased levels of apoptosis are also seen at later stages, subsequent to dorsal trunk fusion.
