Description

Imprecise excision of the P{GSV6} element in P{GSV6}GS13976 has resulted in a 1940bp deletion that extends from 650bp upstream to 1290bp downstream of the putative transcription start site of tbrd-1.

Comment:

A 1948 bp deletion resulting from the imprecise excision of P{GSV6}GS13976, which removes sequences from 650 bp upstream to 1290 bp downstream of the tbrd-1 putative transcription start site.

Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

In tbrd-12 mutant testes the post-meiotic spermatid nuclei at the onion stage contain nuclei of various sizes associated with irregularly shaped mitochondria derivatives. After meiosis, although some spermatid cysts start to elongate they appear abnormal in shape and contain aberrant nuclei scattered throughout their length, in contrast to wild type.

NOT Enhanced by
Statement
Reference

tbrd-12 has spermatid phenotype, non-enhanceable by tbrd-2HR1

NOT Enhancer of
Statement
Reference

tbrd-12 is a non-enhancer of spermatid phenotype of tbrd-2HR1

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The spermatid phenotype observed in tbrd-12 tbrd-2HR double mutants is similar to that seen in either mutant alone. Primary spermatocyte morphology at earlier stages is also unaffected.

Comments

Expression of tbrd-1+tKa rescues the sterility seen in tbrd-12 mutant males.

Expression of tbrd-1T:Disc\RFP-mRFP,T:Zzzz\FLAG rescues the sterility seen in tbrd-12 mutant males.
