Pre-synaptic expression of S6KLScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU results in a significant decrease in the number of total boutons in the neuromuscular junction compared to controls. Satellite bouton number is similar to controls. Postsynaptic expression under the control of Scer\GAL4C57 has no effect on bouton number.
Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU/S6KLUAS.cZa fails to rescue S6KL140
Pre-synaptic expression of S6KLScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU fully rescues the neuromuscular junction overgrowth phenotype seen in homozygous S6KL140 mutants. The increase in quantal content seen in S6KL140 mutant flies is also rescued.
Post-synaptic expression of S6KLScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU does not rescue the neuromuscular junction overgrowth phenotype seen in homozygous S6KL140 mutants.
