A gene conversion template plasmid (pLAPGPRA) was used containing homology arms flanking the site of the P{(-loxP)(-FRT)Flipper2}apMM insertion, along with hsp70-GFP bracketed by a pair of inverted attP sites. The injection of pLAPGPRA in the presence of a transposase source leads to gene conversion.
The wings of apc1.4b homozygotes appear wild-type.
The rough eye phenotype of homozygous apc1.4b can be separated from the ap locus by meiotic recombination. The rough eye phenotype is not observed for apc1.4b mutants over apDG3.
