UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
Expressing plumHMC05055 under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 leads to adult mushroom body β/β'-axons over-extending beyond the midline in about half of cases. Although at 48 h after pupae formation (APF) the β-lobe seems to develop normally and axons extend up to the midline, the β-lobe appears progressively shorter at 60 h APF and even more so at 72 h APF. No axon fragments are observed at any of the developmental time points.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR44E04 results in frequent, pruning defects in adult &ggr-neurons, as well as severe middle crossing of adult β-axons, but not of β'-axons.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4c305a or Scer\GAL4G0050 did not induce midline crossing of adult β- or β'-axons.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR71G10 does not induce major midline crossing of adult γ-, β- or β'-axons.
Expressing plumHMC05055 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR71G10 leads to frequent mushroom body gamma neuron pruning defects.
