      senju1/senju1 generally die in late larval/early pupal stages, with some escapers. senju1/senju1 larvae have enlarged lymph glands, melanotic cells in the hemocoel, melanotic tumors in the lymph glands, reduced numbers of progenitor cells and plasmatocytes, along with a significant degree of differentiation into lamellocytes in the primary and secondary lobes compared to wild type.
