        lmdE202 mutant embryos display defects in longitudinal visceral muscle fusion (unfused muscles are observed at embryonic stage 14), but migration, protrusion formation or spreading of the muscle cells is unaffected. The morphology of circular visceral muscles is also disturbed and the midgut chambering and constriction formation remains incomplete at the end of embryogenesis.
