Description

817bp deletion that removes exon 1 and part of exon 2 of MTPAP. The transcription start site, ATG start codon and the first in frame ATG codon at position 342 of the mRNA are all deleted. A single attP site, plus a loxP cassette containing the wGMR.PH marker have been inserted in place of the deleted sequence.

      MTPAPKO homozygous larvae do not have any obvious differences in mitochondrial morphology, compared to controls.

      The body size of MTPAPKO mutant 4-day-old hemizygote male larvae is severely reduced compared to controls and they die at third instar larval stage. Heterozygous MTPAPKO females are viable and fertile.
