Over-expression of TorsinScer\UAS.P\T.gen driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a weak rough eye phenotype (disorganized retinas) and defects in pigment granule organization (loss of pigment granules, thinning of interommatidial pigment areas) compared to controls. 7 week old Scer\GAL4GMR.PF>TorsinScer\UAS.P\T.gen flies show reduced degeneration (fewer holes in the retina) compared to controls, along with areas with loss of pigments and severe loss of interommatidial pigment granules. Scer\GAL4GMR.PF>TorsinScer\UAS.P\T.gen pupal retinas have a normal lattice of cells including correct pigment cell positioning.
