UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short hairpin microRNA (shRNA).
Expression of ITPVSH330029 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.Switch.PT in adults fed with RU486 leads to a decreased proportion of body fluids, water intake, propensity to start drinking and size of feces; reduced survival under osmotic stress or under desiccation (with normal and lower dose of RU486); and an increase in the volume of consumed food and defecation rate when compared to controls.
Expression of ITPVSH330029 under the control of Scer\GAL4ImpL2.RA (in combination with tub-Gal80[ts] to restrict the expression to adult stages) leads to reduced survival under desiccation or under osmotic stress when compared to control adults.
