Imprecise excision of P{PZ}Chchd303670 results in a 1069bp deletion (from Ch3R: 31,052,786 to Ch3R: 31,053,854), removing a large portion of the Chchd3 coding region (including the translation start site and amino terminal 226 codons).
A 1069 bp deletion resulting from the imprecise excsion of P{PZ}Chchd303670 removes most of the Chchd3 coding region. The genome coordinates of the breakpoints were reported as 3R:31052786..31053854 .
Chchd3D1 homozygous as well as Chchd3D1/Df(3R)BSC749 transheterozygous mutants are lethal, display growth defects and arrest at second instar larval stage. Mitochondria of Chchd3D1 mutant larvae display morphological defects with reduced cristae content.
Chchd3D1 mutant somatic clones are smaller compared to the twinspot clones due to decrease in proliferation (neither cell death level nor cell size is changed in the mutant clones) and display increased levels of oxidative stress markers.
The size (normalized to the respective twinspots) of wtsx1;Chchd3D1 double mutant somatic clones in the wing disc is intermediate between the overgrowing wtsx1 clones and under-growing Chchd3D1 clones but larger than the control wild-type clones.
CG7639GD9934, Chchd3D1, Scer\GAL4HCH.Hand has adult heart phenotype
CG7639GD9934, Chchd3D1, Scer\GAL4HCH.Hand has filamentous actin | adult stage phenotype
Chchd3D1 is rescued by Chchd3UAS.cDa/Scer\GAL4Tub.PU
The larval growth defects and lethality characteristic for Chchd3D1 homozygotes is rescued by expression of Chchd3Scer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU in the mutant background.
