The expression of Ctr9dsRNA.Scer\UAS.1 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU leads to lethality.

The expression of Ctr9dsRNA.Scer\UAS.1 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16, in females reared under 25[o]C of temperature or reared under 18[o]C during development but shifted to 25[o]C after eclosion, leads to the progressive loss of germline cells from the germarium, the nuclei of which exhibit severe morphological defects and polyploidy, as compared to controls; the same expression in females reared under 18[o]C of temperature during development and adulthood leads to no obvious defects in the germarium, as compared to controls.
