In Kdm5140 homozygous third instar larvae bearing two copies of Kdm5JmjC.Tag:HA, muscles exhibit altered NMJ morphology and physiology, with decreased number of synaptic boutons and decreased eEJC amplitudes. These larvae show decreased crawling ability (decreased crawling length, decreased average and maximum crawling speed, and decreased speed normalized to body length).
lidJmjC.Tag:HA individuals show severe defects in learning and memory in an appetitive associative olfactory learning assay (at 5min and 9h) but show an apparently normal odor acuity and the expected preference to a sucrose solution over water.
lid10424/lidk06801;lidJmjC.T:Ivir\HA1 'rescue' flies display premature transcriptional reactivation as well as precocious karyosome remodeling (the oocytes display early increase in chromatin openness) in prophase I-arrested oocytes and the eggs show impaired entry into embryogenesis after fertilization resulting in strongly reduced female fertility.
