319bp fragment corresponding to -896 to -577 relative to the transcription start site of the eya-RB isoform is fused upstream of a minimal Hsp70 promoter followed by a cDNA encoding the eya-RB isoform (plus 3'UTR).

The small eye phenotype characteristic for eya¹ homozygotes carrying the eya^RB.enhE transgene, i.e. partial rescue of the eyeless phenotype of the eya¹ mutants, is improved further by combination with eya^RB.enh1 (which on its own also partially rescues the no-eye phenotype of eya¹ mutants) but not by combination with any of the following: eya^RB.enh2, eya^RB.enh3, eya^RB.enh4 or eya^RB.PSE (none of which on its own can rescue the eyeless phenotype of eya¹ adults).
