      The mean lifespan of adult flies expressing NmdmcScer\UAS.cYa under the control of either Scer\GAL4da.Switch.PT or Scer\GAL4Switch1.106 (and kept on RU486-supplemented diet during to activate the expression) is significantly increased compared to controls and display increased resistance (higher survival rate) to heat or starvation induced stress.

      No significant effect on adult lifespan is observed when NmdmcScer\UAS.cYa is expressed under the control of either Scer\GAL4bun-Switch1.32 or Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO and the flies are fed RU486.
