The R72C08 enhancer fragment is fused upstream of the Drosophila synthetic core promoter (DSCP) followed by the GAL4(DBD)::Zip- hemidriver (component of the 'Split GAL4' system, contains the GAL4 DNA-binding domain). A Hsp70 transcriptional terminator is present.

      Inhibition (using Ctet\tetXTNT-LC.UAS) of neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4DBD.R72C08 and Hsap\RELAAD.VT040747 in adult males does not affect their ability to orient towards and remain close to a female, compared to controls; there is also no effect on following of females or wing extensions, compared to controls.
