      IdhGE9298 mutant adults show significantly reduced survival rate compared to controls and display age-dependent loss of dopaminergic neurons from the dorsolateral cluster 1 and the dorsomedial cluster (while the number of neurons in both young and aged adults is not significantly different relative to age-matched controls).
