      Ablation (using hidUAS.cZa) of neurons targeted by the split-GAL4 pair of Scer\GAL4DBD.R14A06 and Hsap\RELAAD.R10B11 frequently results in the giant fiber interneuron (GFI) being lost from one hemisphere, with the remaining GFI extending a compensatory axon to the contralateral side and forming a terminal axon bend.
