UAS regulatory sequences drives expression of a constitutively active form of sqh. The protein is tagged at the N-terminal end with the Tag:BLD(stau) basal localization domain and at the C-terminal end with EGFP.
Expression of sqhEE.Scer\UAS.BLD.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4wor.PA (thus forcing constitutively activated Myosin to the basal cortex) in third instar larval neuroblasts leads to abnormalities in cell shape changes from early anaphase to telophase during asymmetric cell division: the furrowing is initiated closer to the basal surface than in wild-type neuroblast and subsequently shifts apically.
