Description

Mutants lack the N-terminal portion of the Pits protein but still express the C-terminal portion, including the RING domain.

Imprecise excision of the progenitor insertion resulting in near deletion of exon 1 of Pits (position +39 to +1621 relative to the transcription start site). The transcription initiation site remains intact.

Inferred boundaries of a 1582 bp deletion resulting from the imprecise excision of P{EP}PitsEP1313 that is reported to extend from +39 to +1621 realtive to the putative Pits transcription start site. The insertion site is reported as +38 relative to the Pits transcription start.
