      Half of embryos derived from OstγΔ239 germline clones and OstγΔ239 heterozygous fathers die and show abnormal cuticle denticle belts, many of which display signs of segment polarity defects.

      Mosaic individuals bearing OstγΔ239 mitotic clones (in an otherwise heterozygous background) exhibit prevalent wing defects, including stout bristles in wing blade, notched wings and missing/broke/ectopic wing veins.
