      The expression of sisRNA:2shRNA.UAS.1 under the triple control of Scer\GAL4VP16.nos.UTR, Scer\GAL4nos.PG and Scer\GAL4VP16.otu does not significantly affect the number of ovarioles per ovary but leads to a significant increase in germline stem cells per germarium, as compared to controls.

      Zygotic-only, maternal-only or zygotic-maternal knockdown of sisRNA:2 under the control of Scer\GAL4vas.PU leads to a significant increase in germline stem cells per germarium, as compared to controls; the zygotic-maternal knockdown exhibits a more severe effect than the maternal-only knockdown.
