VAChTY49N heterozygotes and homozygotes exhibit a significant reduction in 5-Cl-CASPP toxicity (reduced mortality) compared to controls. They also exhibit a significant increase in the mini frequency of third instar larval aCC/RP2 motor neurons compared to controls.
VAChTY49N homozygous third instar larvae exhibit significantly reduced endogenous burst frequency of aCC/RP2 motoneurons compared to controls.
The dorsal longitudinal flight muscle of VAChTY49N adults is less able to follow a train of 10 stimuli during high frequency stimulation (100Hz) compared to controls.
At an optogenetic stimulation frequency of 1Hz, homozygous VAChTY49N third instar larval aCC/RP2 motoneurons exhibit a significantly reduced time until first synaptic failure compared to controls. The ratio change in current density between the 1st and 2nd EPSC is also significantly reduced. The minimum time interval required between successive stimulations to generate a second full size EPSC at 100% in VAChTY49N homozygotes is approximately doubled compared to controls.
VAChTY49N homozygous larvae exhibit defects in larval crawling with significantly reduced total distance travelled compared to controls.
