5978bp deletion (coordinates 2L:8140659..8134682 , release 6 genome) with a short ectopic sequence (CCATCCA) between the deletion breakpoints. This removes much of the PAPLA1 coding sequence.
A 5,978bp deletion that removes most of of the PAPLA1 coding sequence. A 7bp ectopic sequence (CCATCCA) is present at the site of the deletion. The deletion is reported to map to 2L:8134682..8140659 , R6 coordinates.
CCATCCA
PAPLA12 mutants are semi-lethal and show a delay to pupariation, but do not show differences in body size (assessed by pupal volume and wing size); adults show significant decreases in food intake an din spontaneous activity, as compared to controls. Mutant females mated to control males lay significantly fewer eggs, which hatch at slightly but significantly lower rate, as compared to control males. Mating between mutant males and control females leads to decreased egg laying and decreased egg hatch rate, as compared to control males.
