Detailed Description
Statement

Vha68-11 homozygous whole-eye clones, induced in the third instar larva, lose on-off retinal transients in response to short light pulses and have a significant reduction in light sensitivity in the adult compared to controls; photoreceptor cells also have anterograde (ninaE and trp localization), but not retrograde (Atpα localization), transport defects and there is an increase in number of secretory vesicles compared to controls. These clones lose photoreceptor cells and rhabdomeres over time in a light-independent manner.
