      hdcΔ84 homozygotes exhibit precocious differentiation of lamellocytes (within circulating hemocytes and in lymph gland) and a significant reduction in the ratio of plasmatocytes (within circulating hemocytes) while they do not exhibit any changes in the size of the lymph gland or the posterior signaling center when compared to control larvae.
