FlyBase curator comment: this entry represents a transgenic construct where the particular construct used cannot be determined.
gekTRiP.cUa results in male infertility when driven in cyst cells, testis sheath, and the male accessory gland (Scer\GAL4c729), but not when driven in male germline cells (Scer\GAL4nos.PU or Scer\GAL4bam.PU).
testis, with Scer\GAL4c729
Individuals expressing gekTRiP.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4c729 show spermatogenesis defects - although in half of cases testes show all spermatogenesis stages, there are few spermatid bundles and very few testes exhibit mature motile sperm.
