TBC1D23^KO homozygous first instar larvae do not have defects in cuticular structures, compared to controls; homozygotes and heterozygotes have an increased rate of failure to secrete a larval cuticle, compared to controls, when the mother is homozygous TBC1D23^KO, but not wild type; homozygous third instar larvae have significantly reduced optic lobe size, compared to heterozygous controls, and adults have significantly reduced climbing speed, compared to wild-type controls.
