UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a cDNA that encodes the Poc1 B isoform, and which has been mutated to lack the C-terminal end of the protein, including the coiled coil domain (sequence encoding amino acid residues VLDVSIESGSDLCSCSARLDEISKLLDSIDERVRRLEGIYSL has been deleted). The coding sequence is tagged at the C-terminal end with GFP.
Expression of Poc1BΔC.UAS.GFP (under the control of Scer\GAL4VP16.bam) in combination with Sas-6Ubi.P.GFP does not lead to the formation of the procentriolar ectopic particles in mature primary spermatocytes when compared to controls.
