Description

Deletion (coordinates 2L:19503155..19506410 ) that removes most of the cyst coding sequence (deletion includes the DH and PH domains and entire C-terminal part of the protein). A Avic\GFP3xP3.cUa marker has been inserted in place of the deleted sequence.

Detailed Description

Zygotic cyst1 mutants are not embryonic lethal but die at later stages of development.

About half of embryos derived from cyst1 germline clones and crossed to cyst1/+ males show two phenotypes. About one half shows prominent epidermal defects, namely large number of epithelial vesicles and shields of cuticle of various sizes. The other half is not embryonic lethal.

Double cyst1, l(2)gl4 maternal-zygotic mutants show embryonic cuticle defects that are similar to those observed in l(2)gl4 single maternal-zygotic mutants (i.e. head or head cuticle morphogenesis), and milder than those observed in cyst1 single maternal-zygotic mutants.
