Description

Two FRT sites have been inserted into the endogenous locus, at 3247bp and 6421bp upstream of the transcription start site respectively. The two sites flank the sna ring gland (RG) enhancer region (-5967 to -4085 relative to the transcription start site); this allows the enhancer to be excised in the presence of FLP recombinase. A Disc\RFPDsRed(T1).3xP3.cHa marker has also been inserted during the mutagenesis event, downstream of the sna enhancer and upstream of the FRT site that is proximal to the sna promoter, thus it is also excised in the presence of FLP recombinase.
