Detailed Description

Electroretinogram readings in Vps291 homozygotes show poorly sustained transient potentials; in full-eye Vps291 clones, there is disrupted light-induced depolarization, with progressively decreased amplitudes and on/off transients. Vps291/Df(2L)Exel6004 individuals also show decreased ON-transients.

Vps291 homozygous and Vps291/Df(2L)Exel6004 adults show age-dependent decrease in climbing activity. and age-dependent/light-dependent retinal vacuolization. Vps291/Df(2L)Exel6004 adults also show an increase in eye photoreceptors with increased numbers of lysosomes, multi-vesicle bodies and autophagic vacuoles, and cortical brain neurons with increased multi-lamellar bodies.

The Vps291 larval NMJ presents increased number of boutons and decreased EJP amplitude upon high-frequency stimulation.

Vps291/Vps29L152E.GFP adults show decreased climbing activity; electroretinogram readings show decreased ON transients.
