A 35 bp-deletion has been introduced within the coding region of Cndp2 causing a frame-shift. This is predicted to cause premature stop codons, leading to a truncated form of the Cndp2 protein: in wild type, two transcriptional variants Cndp2-RA and Cndp2-RC encode 478 and 431 amino acids, respectively, whereas the truncated forms are 82 and 35 amino acids, respectively.
A 35bp deletion in the Cndp2 coding region leads to a frameshift and early translation termination.
