UASp regulatory sequences drive expression of a dominant-negative form of Rho1 (contains amino acid substitution T19N) that also contains a C189Y substitution in its membrane targeting signal, tagged at the N-terminal end with CRY2(PHR) and mCherry.
cephalic furrow | absent | embryonic stage 6, with Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C
In stage 6 embryos expressing Rho1N19.Y189.UASp.CRY2.mCh under the control of Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C, light-induced cortical recruitment of Rho1N19.Y189.UASp.CRY2.mCh prevents cephalic furrow formation.
