Description

A light-inducible degron sequence (Tag:degron(B-LID)) has been inserted into the endogenous dl locus, at the C-terminal end of the open reading frame. This results in a conditional allele in which blue-light illumination can be used to induce degradation of the Tag:degron(B-LID)-tagged dl protein, although the degradation process appears to be leaky, occurring to some degree even in the dark.
