Description
Description
The serpin family is a structurally-related group of secreted proteins containing the serpin-fold, a 350-400 amino acid domain. Serpins (SERine Protease INhibitors) were first identified as a set of proteins able to inhibit proteases, acting by forming a covalent complex is formed with the target proteinase targeting it for degradation.
